having some major and weird shipping problems
I've pretty much spent the last two days that I wasn't doing chores or sleeping trying desperately to figure out what is going on with these packages the USPS has returned to me. Turns out you cannot just call somebody at the USPS and ask them lol, and my local carrier has no idea. One of them was scanned, made it to the East Coast, and then came back to me with nothing in the system to indicate why. It was international. I cannot get a refund because it was scanned, so the label was "used." Now I have to...
community honey jar for December; communication speed; Martha Stewart’s infernal contraptions

I sliced my right index finger open and the cut is pretty short but also pretty deep (for being on a fingertip anyway), and it’s slowing me down on pretty much everything, especially typing. So I’ve been moving at glacial speed, but I am moving. What’s funny is that I didn’t do this with a kitchen knife or a machete or any gardening implements, and I didn’t do it working with tinplate or metal flashing or barbed wire or aviation snips or any of the other sharp and often unwieldy things I deal with every single day. Nope, I did it while...
Hi Top and Glenn, the chihuahua of roosters

I sat up all night with Hi Top. I was afraid if I didn’t, she’d die when I wasn’t looking. I can’t think of any metric by which she could be said to be doing well. She’s not doing well. I force fed her some homemade electrolyte solution a few times. Wasn’t prescribed by the vet but I think she’s probably only swallowing half her meds, if that, and I won’t repeat the smelly details on what’s going on with her – it’s in the last post if you’re interested – but there’s no way she’s not dehydrated. I’ve also...
Power’s back on
Hallelujah, the power’s back on. Cell service is really spotty and Internet is not really happening, though. Lots of work needed outside to clean up and repair and chop up fallen limbs, but i plan to work all weekend alternating between indoors and out to get caught up on messages and orders (assuming the DSL ever decides to cooperate).
hurricane sally
Hurricane Sally is landing right on top of us – I live in Grand Bay, which is – you guessed it – on the bay. Internet has been horrible, will probably lose it entirely here in a bit. Power outages likely. Expect delays with mail in and out of the region. Be patient if I don’t get back to you right away, please!
