Only break one law at a time [Troublin' the Water series]

law keep away troublin the water

A while back, I posted about how Law Keep Away charms were nice, but you can't really count on their protective power being stronger than the law-attracting power of the Busted Tail Light charm. My point was that if you feel the need for a charm to keep the law -- or authorities like the IRS, ICE, social services, etc. -- out of your business, make sure you aren't speaking or carrying something that can negate or overpower it.

In addition to the Busted Tail Light, that includes the following Law Attracting charms, amulets, and words of power:

  • the “Non-functional Tag Light” charm
  • the “IDK When to Shut My Mouth” chant
  • the “I Hang Out With Stupid MFers” talisman
  • the Subwoofer “Whole Neighborhood Needs to Hear My Favorite Jams” rite
  • the “Lead Foot” amulet
  • the “Too Loud For This Paper Sack” charm

You can't expect a Law Keep Away charm to work to its full potential when you're actively doing things that weaken it.

And on that note, I don't know who originally said this bit of wisdom, but I recently heard it again in a Billy Strings song called Catch and Release.

And it's good advice:

always watch your 6 and 9

don't roll through the stop sign

don't be mixing liquor with your wine

and by the way, only break one law at a time

Now the somber reality is that some of us don't need to be breaking a law to get picked up, arrested, and imprisoned or deported. I'm going to be posting a series of Law Keep Away recipes, charms, formulas, and tricks, but if your skin color and/or local notoriety put you at greater risk of being hunted/detained, you should probably combine any Law Keep Away work with some other work like decoy magic and "invisibility." More on all that coming.
