Santisima Muerte / Memento Mori Copper Amulet Necklace

An intricately wire-wrapped howlite skull bead forms the focal point for this one-of-a-kind copper amulet necklace. It's completely handmade, including the links, headpins, loops, clasps, and jump rings.

Creating these findings often involves torching or otherwise heating the metal prior to shaping it, and since I make these myself, I can quench the metal in water infused with herbs, oils, and curios appropriate to the piece's intention. This piece was made with copper quenched in water infused with herbs sacred to Santisima Muerte and flowers commonly associated with ancestor veneration and working with spirits of the dead.
