Spica Talismanic Oil

The fixed star Spica is the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo, associated with the harvest, abundance, success, and prosperity. It is of the nature of Venus and Mercury.

Spica's power is reputed to banish scarcity, dispel misfortune, and alleviate contention.  Spica talismans are valued by those seeking to win lawsuits, get justice, escape poverty, and heal from anxiety.

I made this oil according to classical timing guidelines for talismanic magic, during a carefully chosen window of time on February 6, 2026 when Spica, at 24* Libra, was on the ascendant. The Moon was applying a conjunction to Spica and a trine to Venus, who had just freshly emerged from her combustion cycle.

When a planet is combust, it's in such a close conjunction with the Sun that it is overpowered and unable to exert its own influence. But when it emerges from this state of combustion, it is a rebirth, a renewal. Spica and the Virgo constellation it is part of have been associated with various goddesses throughout history, including Ereshkigal and Persephone, deities associated with the underworld.

Venus is also associated with the underworld goddesses because her synodic cycle means she spends 263 days as a morning star, then is invisible for 50 days, which is her descent into the underworld. After she emerges, she spends 263 days as an evening star.
