Cross & Keys Candle, Hand-Poured, "Blanks"
This listing is for one cross and keys candle, hand-poured with prayer and attention and ready for you to dress with appropriate oil for your spiritual work. Back in the day, folks used to "load" these candles by carving a bit of wax out of the very bottom, adding appropriate herbs, personal concerns, etc., and resealing with a bit of melted wax. I have deliberately left a small void in the very base of the candle so that you can do this without having to carve anything. If you choose *not* to load your candle, that's fine - it's not going to change the way the candle burns.
These are often called crucifix candles, though there is no figure of Jesus or anybody else, for that matter, on this candle - just a pair of disembodied hands. It combines and deploys the symbolism of the cross with that of the skeleton key and book, and thus folks use these in all kinds of workings where they need blessings, insight, information, success, a clear way forward, divine guidance at a crossroads in life, clarity in their communication or in communication from someone else - they fit quite neatly into a really wide variety of workings.
These are the candles I use in most of my Fiery Wall of Protection altar work, and I use them in some types of Uncrossing work, as well. They're also nice as Blessing candles to "seal" each room as you finish when you're doing a thorough spiritual cleansing of your home. And many of my customers like to use these in their workings with saints and angels and any goal involving justice.
Candle stands 4.5 inches tall and weighs about 2.5 ounces.
I make these in very small batches. Votives are poured only six at a time, and most larger candles are poured just one or two at a time to spec upon order. So no two will ever be exactly alike and they will not look like they came from an assembly line. Due to the handmade nature of these spiritual supplies, therefore, please allow and expect some variation from candle to candle and from batch to batch.
Please note: It is perfectly normal if the two arms of the cross fall off once the wick burns past that point. It's just the way these are shaped and you can't really do anything about it. Just keep that in mind when you're setting up your altar so if they fall, they won't land on anything delicate. There may also be some leftover wax at the very bottom because of the way the base is shaped.
Since these are most often used for benefic purposes to draw blessings and other good stuff, and since the bits that fall have the hand shapes on them, I like to keep them and any other leftover wax and add it to a mojo bag or make a paket with it, assuming this makes sense for the working. I might include a few pinches of appropriate herbs, a petition paper, whatever is appropriate.
