Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Tin Shrine
Mixed media: reclaimed tin, glass, paper, leather, satin.
Hand-cut, hammered, and shaped ornament is made with reclaimed tin framing this print reproduction of an antique holy card featuring Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
After filing and sanding sharp corners and edges, I embellish these ornaments from my stash of vintage, antique, distressed, and/or reclaimed fabrics, metals, beads, trims, and sacramentals. This piece features satin roses and pink glass rosary beads.
Shrine body is about 9" high by 4" wide. Measuring from the top of the leather cord to the paper lace framing the bottom, the entire piece is 12" long.
Folks use these as altar or household art, Christmas tree ornaments, gifts, and sometimes even jewelry (though this particular piece is far too large to wear). I love to do custom work, so message me if you have an idea for a variation you'd like to see.
While this and all my tinplate work is filed/sanded carefully to remove sharp protrusions and corners, you should still keep in mind what it's made of and thus keep it away from children or pets.
As with all my spiritual art and jewelry, I'm happy to include your petitions/intentions associated with it in my prayers and bless the piece for you as I'm preparing it to ship to its new home. Just use the note section that will be visible during checkout to give me any customization info you'd like me to have.
