Misfit Soap

Handcrafted hoodoo soaps made with real herbs and essential oils in a ritual setting and then further fixed and blessed on my altars.

Making soap and scrubs and the like requires experimentation and testing. Change one element sometimes and the product or process is affected. New supplier for an essential oil? Gotta do a test batch. New colorant? Test batch. Stupidly humid for the past month? Don't count on the curing time you got when you made this soap last year.

So these bars of soap aren't out there with the regular stock because they were tests, or the bar took a beating and has a few nicks in it, or I decided I didn't love the fragrance and changed the formula, or colors bled into each other or faded, or I didn't like the way an additive changed the bar's hardness or amount of lather, or whatever.

As soap goes, they're perfectly serviceable. They do the job. They just might not be the prettiest little things you've ever seen. For instance, the Van Van soap was giving me fits trying to find a balance between bar integrity and long-lasting scent. The batch listed here isn't mushy, but it hardly seems like it's scented at all. It does contain the relevant essential oils and botanicals, though - it still *works.* It's just not what I was aiming for. Stuff like that. But if you don't mind some faded colors or a few scratches or gouges and you want to give these guinea pigs and road-weary travelers a good home, you can pick some up here.

Unless otherwise noted, small bars are 2-3 oz. Large bars are 5-6 oz.
